Self-Help

One of my favourite quotes from the fantastic book Think Big by Dr. Grace Lordan sounds like this: Any outcome is a product of effort and luck. And this is incredibly simple and important to remember. Also, it made my life much more straightforward.

But why is it so important?

Firstly, this is connected to our circle of control, and as we know, we cannot control anything outside that zone. And we don't need to worry about things we cannot control because it is unproductive to be stressed about things you cannot change.

Secondly, luck by itself is something strange. Luck can be obtained from the effort, but it depends on where you are doing it. Luck can be achieved through communication and relationships with other people. But what we know about it is highly unstable and random. The same things do not always give us the same result. And this is the point: do not waste resources for luck and don’t build any strategies dependent on luck. Just because it's uncontrollable

Lastly, we fully control effort because it depends entirely on us, as with every process. That is what we must focus on and work to make it better.

For me, all these things are about a stressless life. I don’t know the outcome. But I know that I can do my best and feel good.
